Wyre Forest Labour Party welcome and congratulate Jeremy Corbyn and Tom Watson as Leader and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party

Welcome Jeremy Corbyn. A breath of fresh air! and Tom Watson “one of our own”!

Jeremy Corbyn was made leader of the Labour Party with a landslide of epic proportions in the realm of political elections with over a quarter of a million votes. 10,000 people joined the Labour Party within the first two hours of the election, but it's not just Jeremy Corbyn, a lot of people don't get it. It's the start of a movement that will put people first (if not derailed by those with vested interests).

Hopefully Jeremy is the start that will mean young people see they can have a say in their future and are not just written off. The greatest prize would be a movement to put people first, see the death of the old left wing of the 60's and Tory ideals of today and for young ideas and minds to take the dream forward. To many it's not about going backwards to Marxism and the Morning Star. It's about setting out what a real society should be, one that looks forward and looks after the young, weak, the infirm and the elderly.

The seed has been sown and younger folk now need to take up the fight. The Labour Party democratically voted for Jeremy. With a new Shadow Cabinet, there is now a proper opposition against Tory austerity where the weakest are hit the hardest. Younger supporters have taken the lead and their use of Social Media has seen what can be made to happen outside the traditional biased TV and right wing Newspaper media. Jeremy Corbyn represents a movement to place the community at the centre of our society, not those with the most influence.

Welcome Tom Watson “one of our own” !

We are really proud of Toms achievements.
Well known on the national and international stage for his fight for justice through the phone hacking scandal and his tireless work to expose child abuse by the powerful but, we know Tom as a campaigner over many years who first cut his political teeth in Wyre Forest, he was raised in Kidderminster and attended Sladen and King Charles schools. He will make a first class Deputy Leader and we wish him the best and strength he will need in his new position. Well done Tom.
