Marie Holmes
Candidate for St Georges & St Oswald

Worcestershire County Council Candidate for St Georges & St Oswald
I’m Marie Holmes and I live in the Comberton area of Kidderminster with my family. I am passionate about social justice and creating spaces for the marginalised voices to be heard, and firmly believe that we all have something to contribute and receive. We all deserve a seat at the table and if everyone moved over a little and made some room there would be a seat for everyone.
I have a 1st class honours degree in youth and community work and am currently completing a Master’s degree in theology / community development. I am trained up to level 4 in counselling, in which I specialised in trauma and abuse and children and young people. I am currently Chaplain to the Mayor of Kidderminster.
I set up a youth and community work charity with and for my local community in Comberton called ‘Worth Unlimited Kidderminster’ and we work in the areas of youth work, mental health and families and food poverty. I manage a team of local community people, where we provide meal hampers during school holidays, mental health care packages to whoever needs them, and activity/hygiene packages to children and young people.
