Candidate for St Johns and Blakebrook & Habberley South

My name is Leigh Whitehouse. I live in Blakebrook & Habberley South, the Ward I represent as District Councillor. I’m the father of two amazing children, a Local Authority Building and Estates Manager by day and District Councillor by night & weekend.

I was proudly elected to Wyre Forest District Council in May 2019. Since then I have helped change the lives of hundreds of people in the area – there is nothing better than giving back to your local community, it’s something I do every day, happily. The areas that I focus on are housing, local well paid jobs, equality, safeguarding mental health & emergency services – if you give me something to look at, no stone gets left unturned!

There is nothing better than giving back to your local community

Political Experience:
Community Activist / Candidate (2017-2019)
District Councillor (2019 - present)

Years in Labour Party: 3 years

Occupation: Building and Estates Manager, Local Authority

For: The NHS, mental health, local economy

Against: Austerity, fox hunting, armchair politics

Greatest Achievement: My greatest achievement was running the campaign which saw the return of the Habberley Bus, after the Tories said it would never happen!

I’d like to one day be the MP for Wyre Forest.
