Nick Savage - Worcestershire County Council candidate for Stourport-on-Severn and Kidderminster Town Council candidate for Offmore & Comberton

We asked Nick Savage a few questions (via Zoom) about why he wants to join Worcestershire County Council and Kidderminster Town Council. Nick is the Wyre Forest Labour Candidate for Stourport-on-Severn for Worcestershire County Council and Offmore & Comberton for Kidderminster Town Council.

Can you tell us a little about yourself, and why you want to join Worcestershire County Council and Kidderminster Town Council?

My name is Nick Savage – a candidate for both Stourport in the Worcestershire County Council election and Offmore and Comberton in the Kidderminster Town Council election. I learned during my school days that the Labour Party created the NHS, and set workers rights and conditions that we all enjoy today. I have been an active member ever since.

Why should I vote for Wyre Forest Labour?

Please support Wyre Forest Labour, the only party to promote well-planned and affordable pledges. They include a Green New Deal, buses for everyone, a social care plan and keeping jobs local.

Who is your political inspiration?

My main inspiration came from Canon Bob Morgan – the priest who successfully mixed religion with politics. I worked closely with him in two parliamentary elections in Worcester. He was famous for visiting hundreds of deprived families suffering from a decline of industry in Wales. As leader of South Glamorgan County Council, he was responsible for the regeneration of the dock area in Cardiff. He told me his motto was “helping others is more important than helping yourself”. These are words that I live by.

What’s the first thing you would do if elected?

There is so much work to do. We look forward to improving amenities and services in Offmore and Comberton. Stourport-on-Severn needs vast investment to restore the appearance of Bridge Street and the entrance to the quay side. Only Labour can deliver all of this.

If you would like to get in touch with Nick, he can be reached via email, or the Stourport Labour Facebook page. Vote Wyre Forest Labour on May 6th.
