Candidate in Bewdley West
I am a retired school librarian who grew up in Kidderminster, then spent my career years in the East Midlands and North Wales, where I was also a volunteer coordinator of a WRVS assisted shopping and transport scheme.
I settled in Bewdley in 2013 and became involved in various community groups. I am a founder member and secretary of ‘Bewdley Says No to Gladman’. In 2018, I helped to organise a community response to the County Council consultation and proposal to downgrade Bewdley Library. A public meeting and a petition demonstrated strong support for the retention of a fully-staffed library.
The environment should be at the heart of all decision making; 21st century Bewdley needs reliable public transport provided by electric buses, and safer routes for pedestrians and cyclists. Visitors to our beautiful town deserve street access to better street recycling facilities.
