Sarah Rook: Broadwaters
"Having been born and bred in the area I feel I have a real understanding of the community’s needs. I'm proud to be part of an area so rich with volunteers and want to do all I can to support Broadwaters' residents and champion the area."
I’m Sarah Rook, and I have lived in the Broadwaters ward all of my life, in the Horsefair, and now on Sion Hill. I live here with my husband Mark and our two adult children. I currently work as a Teaching Assistant and as a Care Worker.
Having been born and bred in the area I feel I have a real understanding of the community’s needs. I have been an active campaigner for change and for improvements to the area over the past 10 years, including campaigning to save bus services and to improve green areas. As Chair of BRAG (Broadwaters Residents Action Group) I ran a lunch club.
It’s been a great privilege for me to represent the place in which I live as a Town Councillor for Broadwaters for the last three years. I have been involved in many community groups and projects, including Horsefair & Proud, Friends of Broadwaters Park, Friends of Baxter Gardens, Friends of Springfield Park, and Friends of St George’s. I’m proud to be part of an area so rich with volunteers and want to do all I can to support Broadwaters’ residents and champion the area.
So, I am hoping you can lend me your support on 2nd May as your Labour candidate in the District Council elections.
